Dunedin, my hometown..
I knew I was going to really enjoy my time in Dunedin. I've always really liked the place, and given that it's populated with some of the nicest and most interesting people I know - it's not surprising that I'm having trouble leaving.
I knew I'd never leave Dunedin at all if I didn't tear myself away from Hamish's place.. so I did that on Tuesday and now find myself installed in the equally wonderful St. Clair residence of Jen Bell. Jogs through the green belt were quickly replaced with jogs along the beach and I keep thinking to myself "How many ways can there be to enjoy this cool town?". Just as well the weather has been truly terrible!
I've also been having the occasional Coffee in town with Doug, we never tire of beaming various very important PalmPilot applications to each other at very ostentatious moments in cafes. And the Dunedin award for the spunkiest barista goes to: Coffee Culture - go Sacha and Chris!
Speaking of good service. Jen and I went sunglasses shopping (well actually so did doug and I but I exceeded his tolerance for indecision before actually making a purchase) And I was pursuaded (you know how hard I find it to spend money) to buy TWO pairs of sunglasses by a very impressive salesperson in town. Go the charming salespeople!
I also finally bought: a replacement pot for annie.. so once I find your street number you lovely woman, it'll be winging its way to you; A set of clippers (you should see my latest number '0' cut Hamish gave me the other day.. must be about time I got that tripod out and took some photos of myself); and a thermos flask for those evenings watching DVD's in the car in remote and beautiful surroundings.
The shoppping must stop!
Tomorrow, I'm definitely departing for Central. Doug made me a mix-tape, nice man. Maybe I should take him with me!
Righto!
Chris
